Able MIDI Editor 1.3 Able MIDI Editor is a MIDI Editor for Windows. It enables you to compose and edit music in MIDI form. The Editor is designed similarly to a Piano Roll, i.e. the time axis is located horizontally, and different positions on the vertical line correspond to different pitches.
Among the basic functions of Able MIDI Editor are included the capability of adding and deleting musical notes, adjusting the pitch and duration of notes, and playing back results. The MIDI Editor also lets you arrange bar-lines manually or by ear with the Tapping Tool. The Editor provides the means for working with tracks with a wide range of possibilities for grouping and combined note editing. Able MIDI Editor's unique feature is ability of precise bar-line arrangement. Most of piano-roll MIDI editors have regular bar grid. This may lead to a hardly printable notation with great number of legato symbols or unnatural "mechanical" strict tempo. Able MIDI Editor allows you to avoid these flaws. You can adjust bars manually, so that majority of notes do not cross bar lines, and the sound of the piece is not altered. In particular, this might be very useful when preparing data recorded with a MIDI Keyboard for score printing. Multiple Selection lets you select any group of notes and adjust their attributes all at once. Notes are selected according to standard Windows rules; thus it is possible to add notes one-by-one to those already selected, and use the cursor to select a section of the Editing Area. Not only this, the Editor lets you select all notes lying within a defined time or frequency range, by choosing a section of the Time-Ruler or piano keyboard. |
