MPEG to VOB

Convert MPEG to VOB for playback on your DVD player

MPEG stands for Moving Picture Experts Group, is the name of family of standards (joint of the International Organization for Standardization [ISO]) used for coding audio and video data in a digital compressed format including data transmission across digital network. MPEG is cross-platform compatible and can be played on all popular computer systems. The major advantage of MPEG compared to other video and audio coding formats is that MPEG files are much smaller for the same quality (eg, mp3 size is about 1:10 compared to Audio CD).

If you wish to watch the MPEG files on your home DVD player, you may need to convert MPEG to VOB. VOB is short for Video Object. It contains the actual Video, Audio, Subtitle and Menu content in stream form. VOB files are main video files/formats on a standard DVD disc.

If you want to burn the VOB files to a standard DVD disc, other standard DVD-Video files are needed as well, including IFO and BUP files. During the software below, some can convert MPEG to VOB files, others can burn MPEG to DVD directly, and then you can find the VOB files on the DVD disc.
